Brian Macdonald
Brian is currently Principal Consultant at
GreaterThanPlusMinus LLC, where he specializes in all aspects of data science
and analytics, especially data management, data visualization, predictive
modeling, forecasting, and developing interactive web applications, for both
sports and business applications. He is
also currently an Adjunct Professor in Sports Analytics in the College of
Business at Florida Atlantic University, and an Adjunct Professor in the
Department of Management Science at the University of Miami.
Brian previously spent four seasons as Director of Hockey
Analytics with the Florida Panthers Hockey Club, where he was responsible for
analyzing data in both hockey operations and business operations. He also spent
six years as an assistant and associate professor in the Department of
Mathematical Sciences at West Point. He received a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, and a Master of Arts
and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD.
